A tip during pre-production:
" When interviewing non-experts, ie participants in your storyline or ordinary people about their experience or personal story, its best to get only the bare outline in a pre-interview and wait to have them tell their story on camera.
Many people can only tell
their story to you once in a good way. Sometimes things sound false
or forced the second time. I recommend being VERY
careful with a pre-interview, perhaps even saying. "That sounds great, but
if you can wait, I want to get that part of the story when we're filming your
interview".Ken Morhead-
